Personal Profile
Having worked in aviation for most of his working life Henk Glimmerveen has built up a wealth of experience in this industry. He started his civil aviation career in air cargo at Amsterdam Schiphol airport. Training and the induction of new staff were part of his responsibilities. Since moving from the Netherlands to the United Kingdom, he had a short spell in aircraft manufacturing, after which he worked as a Cargo Manager for a medium sized airline. Read more >
Work Profile
Having worked for major airlines at several European airports in different operational, customer service and management roles, Henk has obtained an in-depth knowledge of the airline business. He has a thorough understanding of flight operations, flight disruption management, route and fleet planning, payload-range, aircraft performance, ETOPS, short and long-range operations, JAR-OPS1, CAP 371 and extensive ground handling experience. While working for a large international carrier he was also responsible for operating routes in remote area’s of the United Kingdom. The Post Graduate Diploma course at Cranfield University has strengthened his knowledge of airline strategy, marketing, fleet economics and financial projections. As operations duty manager he maintained and safeguarded the operational programme, optimised aircraft utilisation and by using analytical and problem solving skills, ensured the reliability of the schedule.
